At Let’s Talk Science Lakehead Orillia, there are MANY different ways to get involved.
Volunteers are essential to the work that we do at Let’s Talk Science. Our outreach program relies on volunteers with a passion for inspiring the next generation to explore science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) during their everyday lives. Not only does volunteering benefit the students that we work with, but it is also beneficial to the volunteers themselves!

Benefits of volunteering:
- Develop teamwork, communication, and leadership skills
- Connect socially with other volunteers and Let’s Talk Science staff
- Volunteer on a flexible schedule
- Build your resume or portfolio
- Find a volunteering role that best suits you
- Make a difference in your community by delivering free, hands-on education

Our volunteers work with our Let’s Talk Science staff to develop roles that are flexible and personalized. This could include helping to run sessions (either online or in-person), developing STEM content, testing hands-on STEM activities, putting together outreach kits, or helping to develop our social media platforms.
Volunteers of all ages and abilities are welcome.
If you are interested in volunteering with our program, please visit our Orillia Microsite Page or send us an email using our Contact Us page. If you are located outside of Simcoe County and would like to volunteer with Let’s Talk Science National, please check out the National Volunteer Page.
***Please note that volunteers that work with children will be required to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check through their local police department.
